Thank you for using the Astrid WordPress theme. This page will show you everything you need to know about building a website with this theme.

1. Quick start guide

a. Install the theme

Themes > Add New > Upload Theme > Choose File (select the astrid.zip file)

b. Import demo content (optional)

Option 1 (automatic) Install this plugin and then navigate to Appearance > Import Demo Data. It will import all demo content and change your homepage and blog page to the ones from our demo site. It will also assign a menu.

Option 2 (manual) The demo content available here. Video help available here.

c. Import home layout (optional)

The home layout is available here.

Please note: you don't have to import the home layout if you've chosen Option 1 (automatic) in the previous step.

2. Videos

a. Setup

In this video you can see how you can import the demo content and how you can quickly build content and create your homepage. Note that although we're showing the creation of a single page, the process described in the video can be used for as many pages as you need.

b. Importing the home layout

Importing the demo content (as shown in the video above) does not also import the home layout that you can see on our demo page. In this video we're showing how you can also import the home layout in case you need it. Once you're done, you can remove the plugin used for the import process.

c. Section styling

Once you've added sections to your homepage, you're going to want to style them a bit. This is what this video shows.

d. Same page scrolling

In this video you'll see how you can add a link in your menu that will scroll to a section on your page when you click it.

e. Google Fonts

You can use any Google Fonts you want with full flexibility regarding subsets, weights etc. Check out this video to learn how to load your favorite fonts.
