It boasts a lot of great features and has a user-friendly settings area that allows anyone to customize their website.
The developers kindly sent aThemes a copy of the design so that we can review it for you all. I hope you enjoy the review.
EventBuilder Design and Features
EventBuilder has been designed to look good on any type of device, whether it be a mobile, tablet, desktop, or whatever.
The theme comes with five unique home page styles. This gives you a good choice as to how customers search for events. For example, you can display an event search form, event categories, and a map that shows where the events are located.
I love the look and feel of EventBuilder. It is a minimal design but looks very professional.
EventBuilder supports multi-column megamenu style navigation menus. This is useful for displaying links across multiple columns, such as categories, locations, pages, and more.
All events can be shown on a dedicated events page. Basic information about events, such as the name, location, and date, are highlighted.
Event listing pages display the starting date and the end date that tickets can be purchased.
You can display event information such as name, address, map, and video. Event stats such as crowd and involvement can be added too. There is also custom review fields for each listing category and each listing location.
Users can register and login using stylish frontend forms.
In the account page users can check events they are attending, events they have favorited, transactions, pending events, and account settings.
The theme can natively accept payments via Stripe or PayPal. If you subscribe to Tickera, you can also accept offline payments and payments through other payment gateways such as 2Checkout, Mollie, and Mijireh.
EventBuilder features four custom sidebar widgets and three different widget areas in the footer. There is also support for advertising and seventeen unique page templates are available. This includes four current event page templates, three past event page templates, blog page template, contact page template, and more.
Layer Slider is an amazing slider solution that allows you to create sliders and galleries. Over 200 2D and 3D transitions are available in the plugin. Images, text, HTML, and videos, can be used to create beautiful responsive animated sliders.
Visual Composer is the top selling WordPress plugin on CodeCanyon. This drag and drop page builder WordPress plugin helps you create professional looking pages in minutes using a user-friendly interface in the frontend or backend of your website.
Dozens of content elements are available in Visual Composer, such as tables, galleries, dividers, and videos. A large collection of pre-defined layouts are available to save you time. Layouts you create can be saved and used in other areas of your website.
The inclusion of both of these premium plugins will help style your content.
To see EventBuilder in action, check out the Event Builder demonstration website.
The required plugins page notes that you have to install the EventBuilder plugin too.
Once Tickera is activated, you will be asked to install Tickera Pages.
Before I imported demonstration data, my home page was blank because I had not configured any settings or installed any data.
The demo importer can be found at the bottom of the theme settings area. If you install the demo data, your website will import the content that is displayed on the Event Builder demonstration website.
The theme settings area is powered by the popular Redux Framework. You may be familiar with this options panel already as it is used in thousands of themes, though you can test the open source version of this framework yourself if you have never used it.
Many website settings can be modified via the theme settings area. This includes your website logo, colors and fonts, pages, advertising, payments, events, contact page, and social media.
Your theme settings can be backed up and transferred to another website using the import/export tool.
EventBuilder allows you to modify the majority of theme settings available in the main options panel through the WordPress theme customizer too. This is a great way of changing the style of your theme and seeing those changes in real time.
The number of options available in EventsBuilder is quite low when compared to all-in-one WordPress themes, however the common theme settings that are available should be sufficient for your needs. The addition of Visual Composer means that you have a lot of control over how your pages look.
Tickera and Ticker Tailor
Tickera and Ticket Tailor are premium solutions that require you to pay a fee in order to gain access to all features. No additional commission fee is charged by Tickera or Ticket Tailor for using their solution.
A business license for Tickera retails at $99. It offers support and updates for three websites and access to an Android and iOS application.
The developer license retails at $149. It has no website restriction and grants access to 15 addons that are collectively worth $510. This includes notification addons, payment addons, and newsletter addons.
Tickera has a lot of great features. It allows you to create an unlimited number of ticket types for multiple events. It has support for discount codes, a barcode reader, taxes, and WordPress Multisite.
Ticket Tailor had adopted a different pricing model. Instead of charging an upfront fee, Ticket Tailor charges a monthly fee based on the number of events you are hosting. Prices start from $25 per month with 30% being taken off the total cost for charities.
While there is a WordPress plugin available for Ticket Tailor, it is simply used to connect to your Ticket Tailor account.
The service has some cool features, such as a mobile-friendly checkout page and an option to turn your Facebook page into a sales page. You can also add your own booking fees and accept payment through Stripe and PayPal.
A free trial is available to help you see how the whole system works. You will only be actually charged when you sell your first ticket.
I was really impressed with EventBuilder. It has many great home page template options, an easy to use theme settings area, and the option to see styling changes in real-time through the WordPress theme customizer.
The main downside to using this theme is that you need to use a third-party ticketing solution in order to sell tickets.
This is not really a bad thing as it means that you are ensured of using a high quality ticketing system that is always being updated and means additional ticketing solutions can be supported in future. It does however mean that EventBuilder is not a complete solution and you will need to spend more money in order to launch your ticketing website.
If EventBuilder does not fit your needs, I recommend checking out our collection of WordPress directory themes.
