Kajabi vs ClickFunnels: Which Is Better? (2022)

Selling online courses and membership sites is a viable business venture for people from all walks of life. Whether you’re a business owner looking to launch a digital product line, a renowned expert wanting to share their knowledge, or a budding entrepreneur after a side hustle, online course creation is worth considering.

In light of that, today, we’re taking a look at two platforms that could help you along your e-course creation journey: Kajabi and ClickFunnels.

In this in-depth review, we’ll examine how their features, customer support, and pricing hold up to help you decide if either platform is a worthy addition to your toolkit.

There’s lots to cover, so let’s get straight down to it!

Kajabi vs ClickFunnels

It’s worth noting from the off that Kajabi and ClickFunnels focus on different things with some overlap.

Kajabi is predominantly an online course creation platform that comes with plenty of marketing features to streamline your sales funnel.

ClickFunnels, on the other hand, is primarily a marketing and sales funnels software that also offers online membership and course creation functionality.

What Is Kajabi

Kajabi has been around since 2014. This platform empowers users to create courses online, sell subscriptions and memberships, and market digital products.

Its tagline, however, suggests Kajabi isn’t just concerned with online course creation. It reads “Online Business Simplified,” which hints at Kajabi’s impressive suite of features, including:

  • Website creation
  • Managing and processing customer payments
  • Pipeline creation
  • Analytics
  • Email marketing

That’s not all, but it’s certainly a good starting point! Over 40,000 entrepreneurs use Kajabi to manage multiple aspects of their online business. They can’t all be wrong, right?

What Is ClickFunnels

Like Kajabi, ClickFunnels was founded in 2014. It’s tightly associated with Russell Brunson, a well-known marketing professional and entrepreneur. The software was created to help business owners build better sales funnels in less time. Overall, ClickFunnels’ big sell is that it empowers businesses to maximize their profits and growth because with more leads, you’ll generate more sales, impressions, and revenue.

Consequently, ClickFunnels is based on the sales principles the founders believe in and helps you replicate their system to grow your customer base. As I’ve already hinted at, ClickFunnels’ primary focus is sales and pipelines, with online course creation and online memberships thrown into the mix as an add-on.

At the time of writing, the ClickFunnels website reported an impressive 108,700 users.

Key Similarities and Differences

Before diving into the specific features offered by each platform, let’s clarify what Kajabi and ClickFunnels are all about by putting the two right next to each other and comparing their core similarities and differences.

Key Similarities

  • Some of Kajabi and ClickFunnels’ features overlap. They both offer landing page, course, pipeline, and membership area creation.
  • Both tools are scalable, therefore suit an array of business sizes, including enterprise-level operations.
  • Both provide affiliate programs, although ClickFunnels is more advanced in this area.
  • They offer website builder features.
  • ClickFunnels and Kajabi both enable you to create pre-sales funnels.
  • They come with a 14-day free trial.

Key Differences

  • Although Kajabi markets itself as a business management solution, its core focus is online course creation and marketing. In contrast, ClickFunnels is more geared towards sales and pipeline creation.
  • ClickFunnels is much more money-driven and targets larger companies. Whereas, Kajabi’s pricing plans and features are a little more viable for smaller businesses too.
  • Kajabi offers in-built email marketing, while ClickFunnels doesn’t.
  • ClickFunnels is tightly interwoven with its founder Russel Branson and makes this a significant selling point. Kajabi doesn’t feel like someone’s personal brand; instead, it’s a standalone product created by Kajabi, the company.
  • Kajabi offers discounted monthly prices if you pay annually, whereas there’s no indication on the ClickFunnels pricing page that it provides the same kind of discount.

Courses and Memberships

As you already know, Kajabi and ClickFunnels both enable you to create and sell digital products. In this section, we’re exploring the intricacies of what both platforms offer in this regard. Let’s take a peek.

You can create an entire online school consisting of several digital products, including online courses, training programs, consultations, memberships, subscriptions, and more. Kajabi offers product blueprints that make digital product creation easy. In essence, these are ready-made, customizable outlines that you can use as the framework for your own digital products.

Alternatively, if you already have resources such as ebooks and guides ready to go, uploading them to Kajabi is simple. You only have to choose your product type and drag and drop your file. Or, you can create sections to include multiple files. From there, you have complete control over how/when customers can download and access them.

Kajabi is equipped with everything you need to build a robust member area. You can utilize a membership site blueprint where you’ll find plenty of product ideas and potential layouts for your membership area. Or, you can start from scratch — the choice is yours.

Kajabi makes it easy to manage your members’ subscriptions, cancellations, login issues, and refunds. You can also generate subscription-specific reports that show key metrics such as churn rate.

You have complete control over the digital products and resources released to your members. You can also set multiple membership levels with different pricing tiers. This means you can create a great membership experience by providing various content types, including webinars, courses, lists, videos, ebooks, blogs, and more.

As I’ve already hinted at, Kajabi also boasts plenty of online course creation tools, including over 100 templates to choose from. Here, you’ll see you have the option of building:

  • Mini-courses: As their name suggests, these are smaller courses and often make terrific lead magnets.
  • Online courses: These are fully-fledged online courses that could include multiple lessons, assignments, and quizzes.
  • Blank templates: Here, you get a completely blank canvas where you can start from scratch.

These templates come with pre-designed categories, such as introduction, foundation, and others, to help provide your course with a solid structure. You can also set paragraph-style test questions and multiple-choice assessments, where students can immediately view their results.

Kajabi also enables you to create course community areas where students can connect with you and each other. Here, they can ask each other questions, offer one another support, and network. This goes a long way to creating a sense of community with your product at the center.

Students can also access your courses via the Kajabi mobile app, which is another fabulous way to enhance the student experience.

Rest assured, you have complete control over how and when your course content is released, for instance:

  • All at once
  • Drip-fed
  • Locked content (students have to complete lessons in a specific order)

Kajabi also enables you to track your members’ progress via the Product Progress Report. Here, you can follow the content your students have completed, the number of logins, when they started, and when they last logged in.

However, note that Kajabi isn’t the most advanced course builder on the market. For example, you can’t create question banks or randomize quiz questions. Also, you can only add one major piece of content per lesson category, for example, a video with a description. If you wanted to include a homework download alongside a video, you would have to add it into another section. This isn’t a significant drawback though — in this case, students just have to navigate a few more clicks.

You also get unlimited video hosting, which is great for long-form content!

Kajabi doesn’t enable you to create course completion certificates, but this can easily be remedied by using a third-party tool such as Canva. While we’re on the subject of certificates, this isn’t a feature ClickFunnels provides either.

Kajabi courses and memberships

As previously mentioned, ClickFunnels also allows you to create online membership areas. Your customers can create a login to access your membership site’s content or you can drip-feed content based on a schedule you’ve set.

However, ClickFunnels is somewhat of a jack-of-all-trades marketing tool, and it shows. It doesn’t offer much in terms of customization when it comes to membership sites or course creation. That said, there are course templates available that you can customize with your own branding and logo. You can also write your own headlines and use the ClickFunnels Editor to make color adjustments to your pages.

Plus, you can access the CSS and HTML code to make more in-depth edits. However, unless you have the necessary programming know-how, it’s hard to achieve much. On top of that, some users complain that their membership sites aren’t very responsive on mobile devices.

ClickFunnels allows you to create funnels for both digital and physical products. It integrates with shipping tools like ShipStation to facilitate further automation, making ClickFunnels the more versatile tool for retailers selling both digital and physical product types.

But, unfortunately, where online course creation is concerned, ClickFunnels is sadly lacking; you can’t do any of the following:

  • Create community areas — i.e., forums where students can interact with you and each other.
  • Upload large audio or video files, as you can only upload file sizes up to 3MB. Consequently, if you want to use these content types, you’ll have to engage a third-party service and link to your course content instead. Kajabi, in comparison, allows for unlimited video hosting.
  • You can’t track user progress — ClickFunnels doesn’t even bookmark where students got up to when they reload your course.
ClickFunnels courses and memberships

Courses and Memberships – Winner: Kajabi

While both Kajabi and ClickFunnels can help you create courses and membership sites, ClickFunnels severely lacks in this area. In comparison, Kajabi puts a greater focus on course and membership site creation, providing plenty of features that enable you to create an outstanding student experience. With unlimited video hosting, quiz options, and the ability to build community areas for students, Kajabi undoubtedly takes the win this round!

Email Marketing

Email marketing remains one of the most effective ways to engage with customers. Whether it’s a case of notifying students that lessons have been unlocked or moving customers down your sales funnel, you can’t ignore email marketing.

So let’s see what Kajabi and ClickFunnels have to offer in this department.

Kajabi comes with built-in albeit basic email marketing tools. If your needs aren’t too complex, you should find your bases covered. This includes an easy-to-use email editor and 19 beautiful templates to choose from, covering a wide variety of uses — event announcements, product showcases, newsletters, or anything else you can think of!

Kajabi’s visual email editor comes with a drag-and-drop interface which makes it easy for anyone to customize their email content. You can select and drag in content blocks such as countdown timers, videos, and your logo.

You can also include recipient personalization to create more effective email campaigns. These personalization elements are called liquid objects, which change depending on what information you’ve collected about the recipient. Liquid objects in emails are wrapped in {{ }} with shortcodes you can include — for instance, a recipient’s first name, last name, location, or phone number.

Kajabi’s email software also comes with automatic subject line validation, which checks for potential spam triggers as you type. If it detects anything, it offers suggestions on what to do next, and you have plenty of options when it comes to sending your emails. You can send one-time email blasts or automate multi-touch sequences based on what your customers are up to.

You can also segment customers based on custom tags and filter through contacts based on the products they have purchased, whether they have watched one of your videos, their age, interests, and more.

Kajabi also comes with email reporting to check how many emails were delivered, how many subscribers you have, how many clicked on the emails you sent, etc.

Kajabi email marketing

ClickFunnels doesn’t include email marketing in its basic plan. To be clear, this means that for nearly $100 a month, you can’t send email broadcasts using this tool. While ClickFunnels integrates with email service providers such as Mailchimp, this still feels like quite a letdown.

On ClickFunnels’ standard plan, you can connect to one SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) server that allows you to send emails within your funnels. When you send an email, the SMTP function takes your emails, sorts them, and sends them to the addresses you want them to. But, ClickFunnels itself doesn’t come with an email editor, email templates, or email analytics.

The closest thing I could find to integrated email marketing was ClickFunnels’ follow-up funnels. This empowers you to send targeted messages to customers through email, social media, text, and desktop notifications. However, this only becomes available on the ClickFunnels Platinum Plan that costs a whopping $297/mo, and the TwoComma Club plan at $2,497/mo!

ClickFunnels email marketing

Email Marketing – Winner: Kajabi

As ClickFunnels doesn’t provide native email marketing tools, Kajabi takes the victory. While Kajabi’s email marketing isn’t very advanced, it covers the basics. That said, for more advanced email automation, customization, or segmentation, you might still want to look elsewhere.

Landing Pages and Websites

Whether it’s product promotion, celebrating a new launch, or lead generation, landing pages are an essential cog in the wheel of your sales funnel. Both Kajabi and ClickFunnels empower you to build landing pages (and even whole websites) using simple drag-and-drop editors.

Let’s take a closer look.

Fortunately, you don’t need to be a tech genius to create landing pages with Kajabi. Simply choose a template, customize it however you like, and hit publish.

Kajabi’s landing page templates are helpfully organized into categories such as lead generation and capture, sales, policies, and more, making it easy to find a template that best suits your needs. You can adjust how web page elements look on different devices to create a better mobile experience.

At this point, it’s worth pointing out that Kajabi’s landing pages easily integrate with your automated marketing campaigns, emails, products, and offers.

Incidentally, the landing page editor operates the same as Kajabi’s website editor. There are over 20 free, customizable website templates and some premium templates to choose from.

Kajabi’s customization features include its style guide functionality, where you can set your brand’s default color scheme, fonts, and headings to ensure consistency. You can also create exit-intent popups and customize your landing page and website’s favicon.

The page editor allows you to drag and drop blocks and sections to populate your page. Its 12-column grid layout enables you to snap elements into place automatically. You can include blocks such as forms, videos, pricing cards, text, social icons, offers, link lists, blog posts, card blocks, countdowns, and more.

On Kajabi’s higher tier pricing plan, you can also access the HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code for more granular control over your website’s design and connect your custom web domain.

Kajabi landing pages

Creating landing pages and linking them with broader sales funnels is easy with ClickFunnels.

A wide variety of landing page templates are available to choose from across the following categories:

  • Opt-in pages
  • Sales pages
  • Order form pages
  • Upsell pages
  • Webinar event pages
  • Membership sites

ClickFunnels comes with a template marketplace where you’ll find single-page templates and whole funnels. It’s worth noting that only a few of these templates are free — there are over 100 single-page templates to choose from with a $7 price tag.

This is how it works: you choose a template, update the menu, text, and colors using the drag-and-drop editor, and then hit publish. Like most page builders, you can edit sections and elements and change things such as fonts, colors, and sizes. One cool text feature is the ability to designate a “bold” style for text and then highlight which part of a paragraph you want to apply this style setting to. You can also add shadows and background colors to your elements and optimize each page for different devices.

The landing page editor is quite simple to use, but it’s limiting in terms of your layout options. ClickFunnels pages function as a column of elements. You can only move a row up or down, but you can’t place blocks in line with other components.

In comparison, Kajabi’s grid system allows you to move an element further to the left or right or move two elements next to each other. This empowers blocks to resize for a better user experience and provides much more layout flexibility. Consequently, ClickFunnels pages have a ‘ClickFunnels look’ about them — long-scrolling, single-column pages focusing on text highlights and CTA (call-to-action) buttons.

Like Kajabi, you can use this same editor to build entire websites complete with typical website navigation. However, ClickFunnels as a website editor pales compared to SaaS (Software as a Service) tools that focus solely on website creation.

ClickFunnels landing pages

Landing Pages – Winner: Kajabi

ClickFunnels comes with a broader range of landing page templates and some interesting customization features. However, ClickFunnels’ page layouts are very limiting, and as such, the editor lends itself to a specific type of ‘ClickFunnels’ web design. To get a better feel for what I’m talking about, head to the ClickFunnels website.

With ample building blocks and a 12-column design editor, Kajabi offers far more design freedom. It also comes with an impressive number of web page elements, and I love the nifty style guide feature — for all those reasons, Kajabi takes the win this round.

Affiliate Marketing

Influencers can build trust with audiences like no one else, and that’s why it’s vital to convert customers into brand ambassadors that can promote your product for you. Affiliate programs are an excellent way of rewarding their loyalty. Let’s take a look.

You can start running your own affiliate programs with Kajabi’s Growth plan

Here, you can:

  • Set up an affiliate marketing system with share links that last 30 days or until the cache is cleared. This means if the customer purchases within 30 days of clicking the link, your affiliate is still credited with the sale.
  • Manage affiliate registrations and accounts.
  • Calculate and pay out earnings automatically.
  • Decide what percentage of the sale you credit per affiliate user.

You’ll get access to an affiliate dashboard, where you can track how well your affiliates are doing, including their total number of clicks on affiliate share links, form submissions, conversions, and the overall conversion rate. From this same dashboard, you can also make announcements to all affiliates, which automatically sends an email out to partners.

However, you can’t designate specific commission percentages to individual affiliates. Instead, the commission percentage you set for each offer applies to all affiliate users.

Also, Kajabi’s affiliate signup isn’t customizable. However, there’s a workaround: you can create a custom landing page using Kajabi’s page builder to display your onboarding content. You can then include your affiliate signup link to capture registrations and provide a fully branded experience!

Kajabi affiliate marketing

ClickFunnels’ affiliate program is called Backpack. It differentiates itself from Kajabi’s affiliate marketing program by using a “sticky cookie” system. This means affiliate IDs remain associated with a customer beyond the initial purchase the affiliate achieved. If the customer buys another product down the road, your affiliate earns a further commission. Needless to say, this is a fabulous way to motivate affiliates to really double down on selling for you!

Like Kajabi, you can determine how much affiliates earn. You can create as many commission plans as you like for multiple products, enabling you to reward high-performing affiliates with more profitable programs. You can also create two-tier affiliate programs, where if your affiliate convinces another user to also sell for you, the first affiliate earns a little extra commission for those sales as well.

You can even supply the affiliate members area with banners, ads, email samples, details, and more, making it easy to provide affiliates with everything they need to hit the ground running. You can even run affiliate contests and encourage them to rival in sales! Unfortunately, these are options not offered by Kajabi.

ClickFunnels affiliate marketing

Affiliate Marketing – Winner: ClickFunnels

When it comes to affiliate programs, ClickFunnels has invested a lot more time than Kajabi has. This might be because ClickFunnels is big on using affiliate marketing themselves and makes a lot of profit selling through influencers.

Being able to launch affiliate competitions, create a customized members area, and offer two-tier affiliate programs makes ClickFunnels appealing to anyone wanting to branch out and let their customers do the selling for them.

Both Kajabi and ClickFunnels allow you to create sales pipelines that make it easier to capture leads and convert sales. It comes as no surprise that this is a core feature offered by ClickFunnels.

That said, let’s take a look at how the two platforms compare.

Kajabi enables you to create automated marketing and sales funnels with its visual funnel editor. This tool strings together landing pages, email campaigns, and product pages to fine-tune the customer journey from their first interaction with your brand to a sale.

The building blocks of Kajabi’s sales and marketing pipelines include:

  • Landing pages
  • Email campaigns
  • Offers

Kajabi provides pipeline blueprints that are pre-built with landing pages and email copy. You can also generate pipelines from scratch using the visual editor. On the pipeline customization screen, you can add landing pages and emails and reorder your pages.

With automations, you can decide when the next step should occur. For example, when a user opts into your email newsletter, this could trigger an automated welcome email. On Kajabi’s higher payment plans, you also benefit from advanced automation where you can specify conditions. For example, only if the new user has provided their name, send a personalized email; otherwise, send a generic one.

You can also review pipeline statistics such as conversion rate, views, sales, total revenue, and revenue per view. More specifically, pipeline email sequence stats include sends, opens, and clicks.

Kajabi pipelines

Even on ClickFunnels’ cheapest plan, you can create up to 20 funnels and 100 pages, which is much more than the three pipelines Kajabi offers with their lowest plan.

As briefly mentioned, you can create funnels for all purposes. You start by defining the goal of your sales funnel. You can choose objectives such as collecting emails, selling your product, hosting webinars, launching new products, selling memberships, and more.

You can then choose from hundreds of funnel templates. Here, ClickFunnels really shines compared to Kajabi as they provide a much wider range of blueprints for a broader range of purposes. These templates are included in their basic plan, but you can find premium templates on the ClickFunnels marketplace (up to $147).

Your funnel steps are outlined in an easy-to-read sidebar. From here, you can add new stages, including elements such as sales pages, webinar pages, memberships, order forms, order confirmations, thank you pages, upsells, cross-sells — you name it!

ClickFunnels also shows how many customers completed each stage of the funnel, making it easy to see where you might have lost customers so that you can better optimize for conversions.

Another nifty feature is that you can add “bumps” to your order confirmation pages. This allows you to upsell a product (just one) at the checkout stage.

You can also add conditions to each step, which allows for granular control over your funnels and even create conditions and follow-up steps for every clickable web page element.

Finally, let’s talk about statistics. ClickFunnels provides stats for each funnel step to provide more detailed insights into customer behavior. For example, if you’re looking at your sales page step, stats include sales value, recurring count, recurring value, earnings, page views, and more. Or, if you’re looking at your opt-in page, you’ll see metrics such as all page views, unique page views, opt-ins, and opt-in rate.

ClickFunnels pipelines

Pipelines – Winner: ClickFunnels

Although you can create simple pipelines with Kajabi, ClickFunnels masters up- and cross-selling, offering lead magnets, follow-ups, and much more. Not to mention, ClickFunnels more advanced pipeline editor, in-depth stats, a more comprehensive selection of funnel blueprints, and granular control over where each link in the pipeline leads. For all these reasons, ClickFunnels wins this round.

Customer Support

When investing in any new software for your business, it’s comforting to know that there’s a support team on hand in case anything goes awry. So, how can you get in touch with Kajabi and ClickFunnels, and what self-help materials are available?

Kajabi’s online help center is extensive. Here, you can learn about its features in-depth and find guides on getting started, selling, launching products, and more. On top of that, Kajabi frequently hosts online webinars and events to complement this documentation.

For those really wanting to dig deep into everything Kajabi has to offer, take a look at the Kajabi University. This is a free resource including numerous courses and lessons that provide detailed and actionable insights on making the most out of Kajabi.

Alternatively, if you want to contact Kajabi’s customer support team, you can do so via live chat and email. With the Basic plan, Kajabi’s support staff are active between 6 AM and 5 PM Pacific time. On the Pro Plan, you unlock 24/7 support!

Kajabi customer support

If you need help with ClickFunnels, you can consult their online self-help documentation and the founder’s podcast and blog to learn more about their marketing techniques. That said, ClickFunnels’ support materials are sufficient albeit quite basic, with some articles written over three years ago publicly voted “unhelpful”.

At this stage, let’s also discuss the ClickFunnels website briefly. Compared to Kajabi, it’s fair to say that getting any information from the homepage itself is problematic. You’re required to scroll endlessly past CTA buttons, large headings, and text snippets that shout for your attention. It talks at length about ClickFunnels’ sales strategy before divulging any of the features it actually offers.

Overall, ClickFunnels is linked tightly with its owners’ marketing mindset. Suppose you don’t buy into this as a fan. In that case, you might find ClickFunnels’ website itself wanting.

That said, since January 2021, you can now access live chat if you’re a customer. This is available between 8 AM and 8 PM Eastern Time and promises an average response time of under 20 minutes.

ClickFunnels customer support

Customer Support – Winner: Kajabi

ClickFunnels promises an impressive 20-minute response time via live chat. Despite that, it’s hard to get past the fact the whole website feels like one giant sales pitch. Some say that ClickFunnels’ website makes you feel more like a follower of the founders instead of a creator in your own right. Their online resources feel biased, unfocused, and are often challenging to browse.

Consequently, Kajabi takes the victory here thanks to its free, in-depth resources included in Kajabi’s University. Overall, Kajabi’s self-help docs are presented in a more straightforward,  transparent fashion, with a greater focus on your business needs. Kajabi also offers 24/7 support on its higher tiers — which is something ClickFunnels lacks.

Both Kajabi and ClickFunnels charge a monthly fee, which raises the question, which platform offers the best value for money?

Compared to other course creator platforms, such as Podia or Thinkific, Kajabi is undoubtedly on the pricier side. But unlike many of its competitors, it comes with a toolkit equipped for large online schools and general business operations.

Kajabi offers three pricing plans. All plans give you access to unlimited landing pages and marketing emails, the Kajabi University, webinars, templates, and more. You can try the product for free for 14 days and save 20% if you opt for annual billing.

The Basic plan will set you back $149 per month and facilitates one website and one admin user. You can sell a total of three products and three pipelines and work with 10,000 contacts and 1,000 active members.

For $199 per month, the Growth plan expands on the Basic package’s features massively. Here, you can sell 15 products, create 15 pipelines, store 25,000 contacts, and host 10,000 active members. You can also register up to 10 admin users and create advanced automations (instead of only using “when…then” automations, you can now add condition filters like “only if”).

Kajabi’s most expensive Pro package will set you back $399 a month and lets you create a whole online school with up to three separate websites. You can register 25 admin users, create 100 products and pipelines, and manage 100,000 contacts and 20,000 active members. You can also use Kajabi’s code editor to customize your website entirely to your liking.

ClickFunnels’ pricing is pretty steep. But, before parting with your hard-earned cash, you can take it for a spin with its 14-day free trial. ClickFunnels offers three pricing plans.

The ClickFunnels plan costs $97 per month, for which you can build up to 20 funnels, register one other sub-user, use up to three payment gateway integrations, connect up to three domains, and receive chat support. You also get access to FunnelFlix, the founder’s training portal, which includes courses on funnels, outsourcing, traffic, and more.

The ClickFunnels Platinum plan will set you back $297 per month and this is what the site tries to sell the hardest. It enables you to create unlimited funnels and pages, register up to three sub-users, use up to nine payment gateway integrations, connect nine domains, access priority support, and more. You also get hours of additional training and course material on FunnelFlix.

The TwoCommaClub plan is priced at an exorbitant $2,497 per month. Yes, you read that right! You can register 10 users, access 27 payment gateways, and connect 27 domains on this plan. You also unlock VIP phone support and receive additional content from FunnelFlix.

Pricing – Winner: Kajabi

Considering the high price tag on even the cheapest ClickFunnels plan, I’d hope for a little more to be included. For nearly $100 a month, ClickFunnels still severely limits your payment gateways, how many additional users you can register, not to mention, it doesn’t offer much in the way of course creation features. The pricing isn’t very transparent and focuses heavily on the FunnelFlix courses, which you can access if you opt for the considerably more expensive Platinum plan.

Kajabi’s pricing is also quite steep, but it comes with a broader range of features than other course platforms. These are clearly outlined under each plan. Kajabi is suitable for established organizations that want to branch out or content creators wishing to create full-fledged online schools. For its transparency and the sheer array of features on offer for the money, Kajabi takes the victory.

Kajabi vs ClickFunnels: Pros and Cons

We’ve looked at Kajabi vs ClickFunnels in detail. But in the end, you’ll have to weigh up whether their strengths match your goals and if their disadvantages will hold you back.

So, here is a quick pro-cons list for each provider.

Kajabi Pros

  • Kajabi’s course and membership site builder is powerful. You can add assessments, there are plenty of design options, and Kajabi’s templates make it easy to structure your content.
  • There aren’t any limits on video hosting or bandwidth.
  • You get access to a visual sales pipeline editor that allows you to create complex sales campaigns.
  • You can run a blog alongside your course website.
  • You get access to built-in marketing features.
  • You can launch a robust affiliate marketing program.
  • 24/7 support is available via live chat on the Growth plan (and upwards).
  • You can create community areas for students.
  • Kajabi University comes with in-depth self-help courses.
  • Students can access your content via the Kajabi mobile app.

Kajabi Cons

  • Kajabi’s quite expensive if you’re looking primarily for an online course creation platform. For instance, on the Basic plan, you’re limited to three products, and you miss out on features such as affiliate marketing.
  • Email marketing is still a little basic overall, so you might want to integrate with a more advanced marketing automation tool.
  • Kajabi doesn’t enable you to create course completion certificates or advanced quiz options.
  • You can’t sell physical products.

ClickFunnels Pros

  • The affiliate programs you can launch with ClickFunnels are incredibly sophisticated.
  • You can create a large number of sales funnels with automations and follow-ups.
  • More in-depth statistics are available for your entire sales funnel.
  • You get access to a lot FunnelFlix content if you want to learn this style of marketing, especially with the Platinum plan.
  • You get access to live-chat support with an average 20-minute response time.
  • ClickFunnels is very easy to use.

ClickFunnels Cons

  • ClickFunnels’ pricing is very steep; for the money, it doesn’t feel like ClickFunnels’ more expensive plans unlock enough extra features to be worth the money.
  • The number of admin users you can register is quite limiting.
  • There isn’t any in-built email marketing.
  • ClickFunnels’ website isn’t very transparent and a nightmare to navigate. If you’re not there for Russel Brunson’s teaching, you’ll be scrolling endlessly past content without learning much about the software itself.
  • ClickFunnels’ course and membership site-building features are very basic and inflexible.
  • Users have down-rated some of ClickFunnels’ self-help articles.

Kajabi vs ClickFunnels: The Final Verdict

The overall winner depends a lot on your focus. Are you looking to create an online school with an excellent student experience? If so, Kajabi is the superior choice, as this is where ClickFunnels falls flat. Whereas, if marketing and selling physical products and running an affiliate program is more your jam, ClickFunnels’ feature set is more applicable.

Neither tool comes cheap. At first glance, Kajabi has the more expensive entry plan but quickly becomes the better value for money. ClickFunnels’ most affordable program, on the other hand, is more restrictive, and when it comes to upgrading to the next pricing tier, the cost triples!

Overall, I’m hesitant to recommend ClickFunnels, even for marketing purposes. I get the impression you’re buying more into a lifestyle than an amazing bit of software. During your research phase alone, you’re expected to scroll through endless sales pitches that try to convince you to buy into the hype before introducing the product.

But ultimately, you’re the judge of what’s best for your business. You can sign up for the free trial provided by both platforms to form an opinion yourself. If you do that, let us know in the comments below — speak soon!
